The Académie Fratellini, successor of the École de cirque founded in 1974 by Annie Fratellini – first woman to play the character of the clown 'Auguste' – and by Pierre Etaix, settled in La Plaine Saint Denis in 2003 : site of creation, of training, of transmission and of spectacles of international calibre.
The Centre international des arts du spectacle also welcomes the circus shows from the Académie or from guest troupes, as well as cabaret and various events. Open to partnerships, it also welcomes external productions.
The Centre de formation par l'apprentissage (CFA or Training with apprenticeship centre) brings together artistic masters, circus artists, choreographers and sports bio-physicians, the artists of the future.
The Académie Fratellini can be visited. Behind the scenes, training of the apprentices, history, trade, arts and circus of course!
The first permanent structure of that scale built in France since 1905, the Académie has two circus tents and one covered area. The wooden buildings (HQE - High Environmental Quality) are spread over a surface of 5500 m2.
A site of exception, of august features !
