Local products and crafting techniques, collective projects and solidarity-based economic initiatives, production – responsible distribution and consuming, these are but a few of the topics which are dear to the participants, as shown in their commitment and involvement.
La Foire des savoir-faire is also an opportunity to meet with those who create this genuine wealth and help build a different economy- with and for the local inhabitants.
During the fair, visitors and exhibitors are hosted in a temporary location and for three or four days, the programme includes:
- A public exhibition
Local exhibitors, professionals or designers, associations or job seekers all present a wide selection of their products : textile, fashion accessories, jewellery, decorative objects, fair-trade items.
- Manual workshops and displays by artisans
These workshops, led by artisans and associations, are a chance to discover a craft and enable the visitors -children and adults- to experiment with an artisan and artistic technique, over 2 hour time-slots.
- Exhibitors' testimonials
These testimonials are an opportunity to get to know the stall-holders, committed to a long-term approach of sustainable development, often working in the social integration sector, to raise awareness among local inhabitants or simply there to consolidate their activity.
- A café-village
The café-village is a chance to approach, in an informal and friendly setting, the topics linked to sustainable development - or to simply come across a structure of social and solidarity-based economy. To encourage these exchanges and encounters, the site offers little tastings of dishes produced by local associations and sells fair-trade drinks.
- Events and shows
Music and events take place throughout the 4 days.
